POLICEMEN have arrested a member of kidnap-for-ransom-group (KFRG) in a law enforcement operation in Zamboanga del Norte province, a top police official said Wednesday, April 04.
Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested KFRG member as Hambali Jamad alias Jomar, of Baliguian, this province.
Beltran said Jamad was arrested when he was served an arrest warrant around 4 a.m. Tuesday in Nonoyan village, Baliguian town.
The police director said Jamad has standing warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention issued by the court in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
He said Jamad was involved in the kidnapping of the Jose Duterte, 60 and his wife, Jessica, 52 on March 3, 2017 in Sta. Maria village, Siocon.
He said the suspect is a follower of Roger Kalas, who carries the aliases of Tiguan, One eye and Abu Anhar, a KFRG leader in Zamboanga del Norte province. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
