P425 million supplemental budgets approved

THE Negros Occidental Provincial Board (PB) has approved on Wednesday, April 12, during its regular session, four supplemental budgets all amounting to P425,107,912.

Certified urgent by Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., the PB approved the proposed General Fund Supplemental Budget No. 4 in the amount of P115,030,300 and the Supplemental Budget No. 2 of the Economic Enterprise Development Department in the amount of P1,601,682.

Supplemental Budget No. 6 submitted by the governor amounting to P274,500,000 will be sourced from the loan from the Municipal Development Fund Office which was also approved by the board.

It will be appropriated for the rehabilitation of Barangay Baviera to Colonia Divina farm-to-market road and bridge, construction of La Castellana public market and construction of Toboso Government Center.

Also approved was the Supplemental Budget No. 5 amounting to P33,975,929, which will be sourced from the government equity last year.

It is appropriated for the barangay insurance program, installation of the transformer and other equipment at the Pana-ad Park and Stadium, and variation order of tourist lodge at Mambukal Summer Resort.

Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr., chairman of the SP committee on appropriation, budget, finance, ways, and means, said as of yesterday, a total approved project by the policy governing board for the MDFO Loan Funding is pegged at P1,504,500,000.
