Village chief underscores public-private partnership

ANGELES CITY -- A village chief has vowed to work on infrastructure programs to keep pace with the development in this city and Clark Freeport.

Malabanias Chairman Reynaldo Nacu Gueco, who is seeking reelection, said that he focused on parallel development.

“You can encourage the business sector by means of infrastructure project. Just like what Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said you’re just like President Duterte, Build, Build, Build,” Gueco said.

“If you want to encourage them (business sector), you have to keep pace with the development in Clark and the city. Then your barangay should go along with the development,” he added.

The first termer village chief has underscored the need of practicing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

“As of now, we have a healthy relationship with the investors in Barangay Malabanias. Our hotels and restaurants are very supportive. In my administration, they have donated several roads and other infrastructure projects,” Gueco said.

Gueco added that barangay leaders, like him, should be resourceful because of the limited income and budget of the villages in the country.

The barangay chairman at the same time vowed to continue his programs if he will be given another chance to serve for another term.

Under his term, the village was able to implement 32 major barangay road projects.

Aside from these, four covered courts and four funeral parlors, eight drainage systems were constructed for the residents in the village, according to Gueco.

Many barangay roads were destroyed during the eruption of Mount Pinatubo and Gueco vowed to complete the road construction projects during his second term as village chief.

He also vowed to work on other programs like crime prevention, health, anti-illegal drugs, scholarship, and others.
