Former actress Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez is the current mayor of the said city in Leyte.
Is Cristina stepping out of her office to give way to Karla?
“Hayaan mo na lang,” Cristina said.
According to Cristina she had talks with Karla when the latter visited Tacloban City.
“Nung isang araw, kausap ko siya. I met with Karla here, sa Royal. Birthday niya yun, e. Oo naman, we're okay, for me. Grabe naman! Kailan ba ako nagkaroon ng kaaway sa showbiz? Wala yata. At saka yung kalaban namin talaga, laging naghahanap ng parang kumalaban sa Romualdez, parang ganoon sila. Alam na ng mga tao yun. The people here know that. They know naman who's really helping them.”
What if Karla would really run for the mayoralty seat? It would be Cristina vs Karla? "If I run, but what if my husband runs?”
Cristina's husband Alfred Romualdez is the former mayor of Tacloban City.
“Okey lang. Di ba nga, si Ted Failon nga noon tumakbo rin? Okey lang yan.”
Ted Failon run for Congressman in the First District of Leyte in 2001 and won over incumbent mayor who comes from the Marcos-Romuladez clan.
“In our case naman, hindi kami basta sumulpot sa politics, di ba? I was councilor for nine years before I attempted to even run for mayor. Usually, they like you to go up the ranks also. So, nag-start muna ako as councilor. Kumbaga, hindi naman ako tatakbo ng mayor kung hindi ako nag-councilor muna. And my husband as well is also experienced. His dad, you know, is, like, guiding him also… training. But that's how politics is, it makes it fun. It's not boring.”

The FHM Philippines team officially awarded Nadine Lustre a plaque of recognition as the 2017 FHM Sexiest Woman on June 29.
FHM magazine editor-in-chief Allan Madrilejos and his team made a surprise visit at the ABS-CBN compound to personally congratulate Nadine right after her hosting stint on It’s Showtime.
Dressed in a simple off-shoulder shirt and jeans, Nadine gushed, “I’m really surprised. But I’m super thankful kasi kahit papa’no ni-recognize pa rin ng FHM.
“And also for the JaDines and also the non-JaDine fans who voted for me, maraming salamat po.” She added, "I also don't know how to feel, but I know I'm happy. I'm really happy din naman kasi. It's an achievement."
Speaking to ABS-CBN reporters, Nadine said that she first heard about the news from It’s Showtime co-host Jhong Hilario.
“Binati ako nila Jhong. Tsaka nakita ko yung mga tweets din, kasi I checked this morning para mag-tweet ng hashtag ng It’s Showtime, so yun.”
Asked how her boyfriend James Reid took the news about her latest feat, Nadine said that they haven’t talked about it yet.
“No, wala pa. Feeling ko, hindi pa niya alam. I mean, for sure magiging happy din naman siya. Kasi nakita niya yung struggle ko to be fit and healthy."
How would Nadine define sexy? It's more about exuding confidence po!," says the 23-year old kapamilya actress.
How to be physically fit?
“Controlled eating lang. There's really no effort naman talaga to be sexy, but to be confident and to be healthy. Hindi ko nga po alam kung anong weight ko ngayon.”
Is she ready to become an FHM cover girl after winning the Sexiest Woman title?
“Depende sa Viva,” said Nadine, referring to her talent management Viva Entertainment. She continued, “We’ll see. Wala pang nasabi sa akin.”
At any rate, Nadine said she trusts Viva to make the right decision for her and set corresponding parameters if ever she does a sexy magazine pictorial.
“For sure there is [a prerequisite]. And whatever Viva tells me to do, I trust them naman. So, if they tell me to do it, I’m sure they are gonna do something para hindi slutty yung feel. They have to protect me as well.”
