‘Fake’ service firearms seized from hospital security guards

TWELVE reportedly fake service firearms used by security guards of Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City were seized by the Philippine National Police Civil Security Unit (CSU), on Friday, June 30.

Superintendent Elmo Guevarra of the CSU said over Bombo Radyo Bacolod they confiscated replicas of .9mm caliber pistols from the duty guards during their routine inspection.

Guevarra said they conduct inspection in establishments and agencies, including hospitals with security guards.

He added that the alleged fake firearms will be subjected to examination while the CSU will hold an administrative investigation against the Cebu-based security agency.

The security agency may face criminal and administrative charges if proven guilty of the offense, Guevarra said.
