TRANSGENDER man Jake Zyrus confirmed that he went under the knife to surgically remove his breasts.
In an interview with TV5 reporter MJ Marfori for News5, the singer revealed he underwent a procedure called female to male (FtM) chest reconstruction surgery last March 29.
The procedure was done by celebrity beauty doctors Manny and Pie Calayan, two of the leading cosmetic surgeons in the country.
"I underwent a top surgery," the 25-year-old said. "I'm so happy kasi sobrang, hindi naman sa ano, pero maganda. I know hindi pa ako nagpapa-sex transplant, pero I feel complete."
Zyrus added he's contented with the changes in his body, specifically his growing mustache and deeper voice.
"Masaya ako, pero nahihiya pa rin ako. Hindi pa rin kasi ako makapaniwala. Kasi dati hindi ka pa nagkakaroon ng bigote, minsan nagda-drawing ka pa sa mukha mo. Every day 'pag nagigising ako ngayon, my God, parang napi-freak out ka kasi parang nagbibinata ka," he said.
In a prior guest appearance in ABS-CBN's "Tonight with Boy Abunda," the singer said he's yet to decide whether to take on the next step and undergo sexual reassignment surgery.
But Zyrus disclosed that he's already on testosterone hormone therapy for two months.
"I don't know yet yung sa part na yan. Someday. Para sa akin, para mas complete yung mararamdaman ko as a man, I could see (myself) doing that," he said.
Zyrus, previously known as Charice, introduced himself to the entertainment world as a transgender man last June after admitting a few years back that he's a lesbian. (SunStar Philippines)
