Tabuk City’s Patawid fair rakes in P4M

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- The annual Patawid trade fair of the city continues to bring high yield to local producers.

Aurora Sanet of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office reported the fair that run June 17 to 26 raked-in total sales of P4, 128,191 compared to last year’s P3.92 million. The fair is part of the events of the city’s 10th Founding Anniversary and 16th Matagoan Festival celebration.

Top Patawid sellers are furniture with P1,582,200; handicrafts and wearables, P793,149; processed foods, P728,658; and other sectors, P687, 590.

The Patawid is a tie-up project of DTI-Kalinga and the city local government unit to promote local products that are now gaining wider market.

Because of exposures in regional and national trade fairs, local producers have developed quality products that are now competitive even abroad. This is gleaned in the growing Patawid sales rate every year, Sanet said.

Sanet encouraged more exhibitors to join in the forthcoming events as she assured DTI’s assistance to any product development need. (PIA)
