P70-M patrol road to be built for Asean Summit

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) signed an agreement with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for the construction of an 11.8-kilometer patrol road here in preparation for the upcoming 31st Asean Summit.

Under the agreement, the AFP 51st Engineering Brigade and the 355th Aviation Engineering Wing of the Philippine Air Force will provide the manpower, labor, and the general construction equipment and tools for the project.

CIAC was tasked to prepare the detailed engineering design and the period of completion of the said project.

The BCDA will ensure the proper, smooth, and timely implementation of the project.

BCDA will also procure materials, supplies, and services, including petroleum, oil and lubricants from the nearest gasoline station to the construction site, and all other equipment, spare parts and services needed in the implementation of the project.

The patrol road is also part of the long-term solution to strengthen security measures inside the Clark aviation complex.
