A PUBLIC school teacher was shot to death by an unidentified man inside his house at Barangay Ubos, Bayawan City in Negros Oriental Monday night, July 3.

The fatality, Kim Timosan, 35, taught at Cansig-id Elementary School in the city.

Police said the assailant just entered the victim's house and fired at him around 8:30 p.m.

The gunman, who was about 5 feet and 3 inches tall, was wearing an orange jacket while his face was covered with a cloth.

Timosan succumbed to head injuries.

In Negros Occidental, a tricycle driver was gunned down by a watchman in front of a beer house in Talisay City early Monday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Gregorio Rivera Jr., 32, of Barangay Zone 10.

Superintendent Adonis Rosales, city police chief, said Rivera was having a drinking session with friends while suspect Reynaldo Dequinan, 50, of Barangay Matab-ang was also with his group.

A heated argument ensued between them when the victim blocked the suspect’s way on their way home around 1 a.m.

Rosales said Dequinan allegedly gave P200 to the victim to stop what he was doing.

However, Rivera chased Dequinan, which prompted the suspect to shoot him.

Rivera succumbed to a lone gunshot wound.

Dequinan was arrested and yielded an improvised .357 caliber revolver.
