After a Blu Wedding comes Mother’s Day

RADISSON Blu Cebu’s two-day bridal fair entitled Something Blu – A Wedding of a Kind was unveiled at SM Seaside City’s Mountain Wing in time for the traditional June bride’s unlimited choices for wedding packages!

Jetting in from Manila was Penk Ching of The Pastry Bin, who expounded on latest cake décor trends. After her talk, a runway show followed featuring wedding gowns by Manila designers: Rajo Laurel, Randy Ortiz and Francis Libiran. From the local scene were Philip Rodriguez, Jun Escario, Edwin Ao, Philipp Tampus, Mel Maria, Protacio Empaces, Valerie Alvez, Dino Lloren, Mary Ty, Lord Maturan, Rei Escario, Orville Biongcog and Dexter Alazas.

The exciting highlight of the day was revealing the Your Dream Wedding on Us promo winners: Raul Arradaza and Candice Rosales. The Blu couple were gifted with a complimentary wedding reception for 100 persons courtesy of Radisson Blu, P100,000 worth of wedding bands from Diagold and nuptial photo shoot from Rock Paper Scissors Photography.

An Afternoon Tea Story was on sked for Mother’s Day at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel (CCMH), featuring special guest, image and etiquette trainer Pauli Antoine.

The prim and proper but sophisticated Ms. Antoine has impressive credentials too: President of Etiquette de Manille, and Red Archon. She is the skilled craftsmith behind the portrayals of fashion, business and political icons, and is a regular columnist of F&B World Magazine and a contributor of Food Magazine, Asian Dragon and Smart Parenting.

Moms clad in corporate garb, let their hair down for once, and donned pretty dresses. And with their kids in tow, enjoyed the dainty table setting of pink and blue blooms, and delicious pastries.

It was in this rhapsodic mode that Ms. Antoine demonstrated picture-perfect pose, confident posture, winning smiles, appropriate handshakes and how to sit like royalty!

Of course, on hand to welcome all guests was CCMH general manager Patrick Carroll, who also introduced young Gabriel Alfonso Balantucas, a violinist who mesmerized everyone with his pieces.

As a closing gesture, the kids then exited from the ballroom and returned with a pink rose, greeting their moms a Happy Mother’s Day!
