Pregnant Pokwang hospitalized

COMEDIENNE Pokwang, who is two months along the way, was brought to the hospital during the weekend.

In an Instagram post by K Brosas, the singer said that she's visiting her best friend Pokwang who was confined in the hospital but is now in stable condition and needs best rest.

"Dinalaw ko si BFF @itspokwang27 sa hospital... Don't worry ok na siya, kelangan lang niyang maging mas maingat at bawal halos gumalaw," Brosas wrote.

She added that Pokwang's baby is safe and both are asking for prayers.

"Ok naman si baby O'Brian. Pero sana include n'yo naman po sila sa prayers ninyo para mas maging smooth at safe ang buong pregnancy," she said.

Pokwang, 44, is expecting her first child with American partner Lee O'Brian.

In a previous television interview with O'Brian, he said that it's going to be a difficult pregnancy for the comedienne because of her age.

She was advised by the doctors to take total bed rest.

"She's not moving and totally resting. The check-up turned up great. The doctor said everything is okay with the baby," he said.

"Because of her age, it makes it delicate. Every precaution has to be taken and bed rest. The last time she was so in demand and so busy that we had problems. This time she's careful more than ever," he said.

Due to her delicate pregnancy, the comedienne had to take a leave from her television commitments, namely her stints in "Banana Sundae" and primetime series "Ang Probinsyano."

Pokwang, who has a daughter from a previous relationship, met O'Brian while filming their 2014 movie "Edsa Woolworth" in the United States.

In 2015, the couple confirmed their relationship and O'Brian eventually moved to the Philippines.

That same year, the two tried to have a baby but Pokwang suffered a miscarriage.

O'Brian said they are more careful now and hopeful that all goes well for the mother and child.

"Last time struck us really hard. So, now, we'll just get through the first step," he ended. (SunStar Philippines)
