Basilan businesswoman nabbed in drug bust

A BUSINESSWOMAN was arrested by police officers after she yielded several sachets of illegal drugs during a drug bust in Isabela City, Basilan province, Monday night, July 10.

The Isabela City Police Office identified the suspect as Janice Arellano, 34, who was nabbed around 7:30 p.m., Monday, in the village of Santa Cruz, Isabela City.

The police confiscated 12 sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," from Arellano.

The suspect would face charges for the violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
