A MAN was stabbed by his brother-in-law at Purok Sigay, Magsungay, Bacolod City, Tuesday evening, July 11.
Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman Jr., head of Police Station 8 said Rolando Bawa-an, 26, was attacked by Daniel Impase, 23, when the victim tried to pacify him due to his unruly behavior after his family failed to prepare food for his birthday celebration.
Impase was drunk when he stabbed Bawa-an using an ice pick and also took a bolo.
Bawa-an sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital.
Benoman said Impase tried to escape but he was mobbed by his relatives.
He is detained at the station.
