TOP business and real estate taxpayers in the Baguio City were lauded by the City Government during the regular flag raising ceremony.
The DMCI Project Developers Inc. is this year’s top business taxpayer while Philippines Energy Corporation came in second with CJH Hotel Corporation in third.
Rounding up the top 10 business taxpayers are Supervalue, Inc., Mountain Maid Training and Development Foundation Inc., Puregold Price Club Inc., Imelda Lao, Highland Gaming Corporation, Philippine American Life and General Insurance Co. and Maybank Phils. Inc.
Meanwhile, gaining the top three spots in real property tax payments are Baguio Country Club Corp., Jargo Realty and Development Corp., and RU AQUINO Construction and Development Corp.
Included in the top 10 real property taxpayers are Azalea Leisure Residences Corp., Goldencrown Group Realty Inc., Charles Ingram Ang et. al., Citylight Properties Development Corp., Ayala Land Inc., Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. and Liwayway Martonito.
The top revenue generators in both business and real property taxes were given plaques of appreciation from the city government of Baguio.
Twenty percent discount is being given to real property taxpayers who pay from January 1 to 31. While 15 percent discount will be given for those who pay from February 1 to 28 and 10 percent for those who pay from March 1 to 31.
Giving discount incentives encourages early payment of taxes, said City Treasurer Alex Cabarrubias.
Cabarrubias, however, said after the deadline of tax payments, the City Government is set to hold a crackdown on tax violators and impose penalties and surcharges including closure,. (PR)
