AN ABSENTEE member of the Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police and his three companions were arrested in a drug bust conducted by operatives of Police Station 1 at Purok Paloma, Barangay 16 in Bacolod City Friday evening, July 14.
Police identified the suspect as Police Officer 3 Clyde Dulaca, 45, who went absent without official leave. He is a resident of Alunan-Yulo Extension, Barangay 35.
Also arrested were Agiemon Padilla, 28, of Purok Paloma, Barangay 16; Chad Mariano, 37, and Gracel Carian, 37, both residents of Purok Punay, Barangay 16.
Senior Inspector Leo Estopa, chief of Police Station 1, said Padilla was arrested after he sold a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu" to a police poseur-buyer for P200.
Police recovered from Padilla’s possession seven sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the P200 marked money.
Also recovered were the identification cards of PO3 Dulaca along with a .45 caliber, one magazine with eight live ammunition, plastic container, and several empty plastic sachets.
Estopa said Dulaca, Mariano, and Carian were holding a “pot session” inside the house.
The firearm was owned by Dulaca, who was formerly assigned at the SAF headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.
The suspects are detained at Police Station 1 and charges will be filed against them today, Estopa added.
Meanwhile, two suspected drug pushers were arrested in a drug bust conducted by personnel of La Carlota City Station at Corner La Paz-Mabini Streets in Barangay 3 Friday evening.
Police identified the suspects as John Paul Pillado, 23, of Mabini Street, Barangay 3, and Anson Chiang, 33, of La Paz Street Barangay 1.
Superintendent Cresenciano Cordero, officer-in-charge of La Carlota City Police Station, said Pillado and Chiang were arrested after they handed shabu to a police agent.
Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 20 plastic sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.
The suspects are detained and facing drug charges.
