BC CUERPO Construction (BCC) leaned on its homecourt advantage to hold off Shai and Shab Beauty Salon (SSBS), 88-78, in the resumption of the Scottie Thompson Basketball League 2017 held at the Elenita Heights basketball court in Catalunan Grande, Davao City.
BCC's win came on the heels of escaping MCCC Transport Philippines (MTP) 84-80, on Saturday, July 15.
BCC fled from a see-saw affair after its key player Ceasar Divinagracia saw action in the second quarter.
Divinagracia, who scored 18 in the game against MTP, accounted for 30 points to lift BCC's third victory in four outings.
Though Reb Martinez showed up with a vigorous performance but his 25 points were not enough to save SSBS from the jaws of defeat.
Minnie Mickey Mouse Taxi (MMMT), meanwhile, survived past GJaps Pirates 104-102, behind the 44-point effort combined by Bonn Arsenal, Gringo Loyola and Francis Benduo.
MMMT also defeated Heartworkz/Tonzo Express, 81-74, on Saturday.
The Pirates, however, leaned on the services of Ian Sabio and Francis Garcia, who made identical 14 points.
In another match, Kokoy Abella made 24 while Kim Agamon had 17 as the Mt. Mixed Enterprises (MME) clobbered Heartworkz/Tonzo Express, 73-65.
The winless Heartworkz relied on Junjun Cadotdot who canned 13 points.
Gingging Racaza and Rey Sansano, however, added 10 points each but fell short to save the team from another unfortunate defeat.
