Catmon village councilman nabbed in drug bust

A VILLAGE official was caught in a drug bust in Catmondaan village, Catmon, northern Cebu at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19.

Catmondaan Village Councilor Irvin Ares Doños yielded 18 small sachets believed to contain methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu”, to the joint team of Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and Catmon Drug Enforcement Team operatives.

Superintendent Joie Yape Jr., the PIB chief, said the suspect is listed as a high value target in the list of Cebu Provincial Police Office's drug personalities.

Catmon Police Chief Narciso Abapo said they received reports of the suspect's involvement in the illegal drug trade. Surveillance on Doños confirmed the information.

Doños will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, which sets no bail for any person caught selling shabu. (KAL)
