Burnham Park improvement seen to add to tourists' convenience

THE Baguio City Council has approved a resolution to put up a waiting shed and a trellis at the vicinity of the Burnham Lake for the safety of tourists visiting Burnham Park.

The trellis will be placed as a safety measure to prevent anybody from accidentally falling in the lake.

The approved measure also includes the repair of all the stairs leading to the lake.

Vice Mayor Edison Bilog, who authored the resolution, said the measure is a clamor from boat concessionaires, locals and tourists in the area.

Bilog said concerns were raised during the interview with locals and was found out the dilapidated stairs going to Burnham Lake caused several accidents.

The improvement in Burnham Park, Bilog said will elevate the safety and convenience of the visitors and tourists being one of the top tourist destinations in the city. (PNA)
