2 drug pushers slain in Pampanga

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Two drug pushers were gunned down when they exchanged firefight with police operatives in Cabetican village, Bacolor, Pampanga, Sunday, July 16.

Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta, Pampanga police acting provincial director, identified the slain suspects as Rosby de Leon aka Rosby, 45, a resident of Calantas village, Floridablanca town, and Denmark Jay Mungcal, 20, a resident of Digos City, Davao Del Sur.

Consulta said joint operatives of the Pampanga Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Bacolor police conducted a drug bust against the two suspects along Pasig Potrero Dike, Cabetican village that resulted in an armed encounter.

He said the two suspects, who were on board a Nissan Sentra (CSK-982) after they handed over a sachet of crystal meth or “shabu” to undercover police, sensed that their buyer is a police officer that prompted them to open fire.

An exchange of firefight ensued that resulted to their death, Consulta said.

Recovered from them were 36 sachets of shabu, two sachets of dried marijuana leaves, a caliber .45 pistol, caliber .22 rifle and the marked P1,000 bill. (Ric Sapnu)
