Air Juan to start flights in Sipalay on August 3

MAYOR Oscar Montilla on Wednesday, July 19, said Air Juan Aviation Inc. will start its operations in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental on August 3.

Montilla said Air Juan will accommodate nine passengers per flight with two flights every week on Wednesdays and Sundays for Sipalay to Cebu and vice versa, and during Mondays and Thursdays for Sipalay to Iloilo and vice versa.

Test flights were conducted on Wednesday, he said.

“Passengers would not be a problem because even those from nearby localities in Negros Oriental would surely choose to fly from Sipalay City,” Montilla said.

Connecting flights going to other tourist destinations especially Siargao and Palawan will also be available, he added.

“This is a very welcome development as this would definitely boost the tourism industry of Sipalay City and the entire Chicks area. We have been waiting for this as this will surely attract more tourists,” Montilla said.

He added that Sipalay will be put on the map of major tourists destinations because of this development.

Flying from Sipalay to Cebu would take 30 minutes at P2,000 for a one- way ticket and less time for Sipalay to Iloilo flights with less than P2,000 airfare. (TDE)
