UCPB to deactivate old, magnetic ATM cards by August 1

UCPB has announced it will deactivate its old magnetic stripe-enabled ATM cards by next month.

It encouraged its ATM cardholders to upgrade to the new, secure UCPB Visa Debit/EMV Card. UCPB ATM cardholders have until Aug. 1, 2017 to visit their maintaining branch and claim their EMV-powered ATM card, free of charge.

UCPB vice president and marketing group head Charina Balanquit said that bank’s new Visa debit card provides cardholders more security through the EMV chip. (PR)
