PH-Japan Friendship Month celebration on

THE City Government of Baguio and the Embassy of Japan are spearheading the celebration of Philippine-Japan Friendship Month 2017 Tanabata Festival in this city highlighting 61 years of friendship.

The event is in cooperation with the Japan Foundation, Jica, Japanese Association of Northern Luzon (JANL), Filipino-Japanese Foundation of Northern Luzon, Baguio Museum and other organizations.

Activities include a painting contest and workshop on past, present and future of Baguio historical and heritage sites at the Baguio Museum and Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) on July 14 at 10 am; Tanabata decoration/ Fukinagashi Workshop at Sr. Unno Memorial Hall, Bukaneg Street, (open to public), July 15 at 10 am and for members on July 16, 1 pm at the same venue by Abong.

Philippine-Japan Friendship Celebration on July 23 starts 9 a.m. with a floral offering and candle light ceremony at the Japan Peace Memorial Garden, Gov. Pack road followed by Celebration of Philippine-Japan Friendship Day in Baguio and Tomodachi Day Cultural Show at BCNHS starting 1 p.m.

At 2 p.m. on August 6 is the opening ceremony of Philippine-Japan Friendship Exhibit at the Baguio Museum and a Japanese Film Festival from August 10 to 13 at SM Baguio Cinemas by Japan Foundation Manila. A Cosplay activity is also scheduled in August.
