Bank of Florida opens new Guagua branch

GUAGUA - Aspiring regional rural banking industry champion Bank of Florida (BOF) on Wednesday opened its 16th branch in Guagua, Pampanga.

Standing at the junction of Olongapo-Gapan Road and Jose Abad Santos Avenue, the branch is the newest addition to the 53-year-old bank’s network across Central Luzon Region.

BOF Chairman and President Teresa David-Carlos shared that the opening is part of the bank’s many initiatives to further improve the service being given to their customers.

“This is actually transferring our old branch which is formerly in the Plaza of Guagua. We realized that the challenge of parking space is a major factor. And with this move, we aim to better provide convenience to our bankers,” she highlighted.

“Also, we believe that in this new location which is the main intersection of Guagua, is where the growth is. We have here restaurants, malls, schools, as well as other banks in the area, and we also like to contribute to its progress,” she added.

The president furthered that it is also the David family’s way of giving legacy to their visionary father.

“It was about 15 years ago when our dad, Ladislao Sibal-David bought this lot. During that time, there wasn’t anything here. But he has a really extraordinary foresight that this area will one day rise up. Over a decade and a half later, his dream finally became a reality and this area is now the next center of Guagua,” she said.

The executive disclosed that the banking institution is eager to expand its network in the countryside.

“With our aim to become the regional champion in the rural banking industry, we are committed to open up more branches in the province. This coming August, we will be inaugurating our Porac Branch, as we aspire to provide relevant deposit and loan products, as well as our customer-centric services to our kabalens,” she said.

For his part, Guagua Mayor Dante Torres noted that the opening of BOF’s new branch is a welcome addition to the valuable establishments in the intersection of Guagua.

“This will definitely add up to the development of this area. We like to thank BOF for this significant move as it will help bring sustainability and entice other investors to invest in our town,” he said.
