A SUSPECTED drug pusher was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in Sitio Guiwanon, Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete, Cebu, at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, July 23.
Police identified the fatality as John Christopher Ereno, 26, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Investigation showed the victim came from a wake of his neighbor in Guiwanon. He was shot while he was walking toward his home.
Police recovered eight empty shells of .45 pistol and two slugs in the crime scene.
Senior Police Officer 1 Job Sarvida said Ereno surrendered during Oplan Tokhang last December 8, admitting he was a pusher and promised not engage in illegal drug trade again.
Sarvida said investigators are looking into the possibility that the murder was drug-related. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
