Globe loads up entertainment content

GLOBE Telecom is providing a wide range of entertainment content that goes beyond everyone's smart phones.

This year, the company is pulling out all the stops with four musical productions under its belt. It brought the local adaptation of Disney's Newsies, which started last July 7 at the Globe Iconic Store, and will also be co-producing international tours such as "West Side Story," “The Sound of Music," and the re-staging of "Menken & Ahren's A Christmas Carol” in December.

Globe has also ventured into producing original video content through Globe Studios. It recently launched the first-ever online film fest, the Globe Independent Film Festival, which gave new avenue to aspiring local filmmakers.

The company also collaborated with HOOQ to produce the spin-off of Erik Matti's hit independent movie "On the Job.

"We wanted to give our customers more ways to enjoy life, so we ventured into staging entertainment productions that goes beyond the smartphone screen with the establishment of Globe LIVE and Globe Studios," said Albert de Larrazabal, chief Commercial Officer of Globe.

Larrazzabal added that through these new undertakings, they will create new experiences that go beyond the virtual world and will give the customers the opportunity to experience entertainment like never before.

"We intend to elevate the quality of entertainment in the country. There’s a boundless supply of great talent in the Philippines, and with it potentially comes great movies, theater, and other exciting content to enjoy," he added.

Just recently, the mobile company also put emphasis in recognizing original content providers through its new campaign "Play It Right".

“Play It Right” aims to educate Globe customers of the real life stories of people behind the entertainment they consume, with the hope of encouraging its patronage to enjoy content from legitimate sources.

This campaign will also play a major role in Philippine cinema as Globe is supporting the upcoming Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, a nationwide week-long celebration organized by the Film Development Council.

The company is also bringing in "The Chainsmokers" in September and the first solo show of Harry Styles in Manila in May next year.

Globe customers can access all these entertainment content with new Go Watch, which allots a separate data allocation which can be used for popular and legitimate streaming platforms such as YouTube, Netflix, Tribe, HOOQ, NBA, Cartoon Network and Disney Channel apps. (SunStar Philippines)
