Village councilman shot dead in Negros Occidental

A VILLAGE councilman of Barangay Igmaya-an, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental was shot to death by an unidentified man in front of his store on Friday, July 21.

Police identified the victim as Armando Indino, 35.

Town Police Chief Jovito Bose said Indino was sitting at his store near their house when the assailant fired at him around 11:20 a.m.

He sustained two gunshot wounds and was declared dead at a hospital.

Police recovered two fired bullets of .9mm.

Bose said Indino had been receiving threats after he had a misunderstanding with a certain individual related to his business.

He added that they have identified the gunman and his companion.

Meanwhile, in Negros Oriental, a man was shot to death inside a barber shop at Barangay Poblacion, Guihulngan City on Sunday morning, July 23.

The fatality was victim as Glenn Absin of the same village.

Investigation showed that Absin was having a haircut with his son around 9:05 a.m. when one of three unidentified men fired at him.
