Anti-terrorism exercise in Negros Occidental set on July 26

THE Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) will hold a terrorism simulation exercise at the Himamaylan City Police Station in Negros Occidental today, July 26.

Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, public information officer of PRO-NIR, said there will be scenarios that will show an attack of armed men in a police station.

The exercise will be assessed and evaluated by a team from the regional office.

Vargas said all police stations in Negros Island are on full alert even before the ambush incident in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental last week that killed six policemen, including the city police chief, and injured three others.

She said more policemen were also added to areas that have armed men sightings.

“Personnel in all police stations were told to be vigilant and guarded at all times,” Vargas added.

Any reported armed men sightings should be directly reported to the authorities.
