Drug suspect shot dead in Negros Occidental

A DRUG personality was shot to death by an unidentified man in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday night, July 26.

The drug suspect was identified as Marlon Hino, 21, of the said village.

Police records showed Hino left their house after he had dinner with his family. After a while, his partner heard gunfire near their house.

Hino was the found dead with a gunshot wound in his head.

Investigators recovered a fired bullet of .45 caliber pistol, and drug paraphernalia from the victim’s pocket.

San Carlos City Police Station chief Arturo Fullero said they are eyeing a failed illegal drug transaction as the motive of the killing.

Drunk man shot

Meanwhile, a drunk man was shot by a police officer when he resisted arrest in Bais City, Negros Oriental early Thursday morning, July 27.

Police identified the suspect as Anthony Navarite, 25, a department store employee.

Investigation showed that Navarite was reported for alarm and scandal at a food stall around 12:10 a.m.

Policemen arrived to subdue Navarite, but he pointed his firearm to a responding police officer, prompting the latter to shoot him.

Navarite was hit in the elbow and was brought to a hospital.

The suspect yielded a homemade .38 caliber revolver and five live ammunition.

He is detained at Bais City Police Station for the filing of charges for alarm and scandal, and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
