AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have rescued 17 female minors being offered for sexual services in Caloocan City.
NBI Chief Dante Gierran said the Anti- Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTD) rescued the victims on Thursday following the unit's receipt of a report that a group of pimps had been offering young girls for sexual services to male clients, locals and foreigners in Caloocan City.
To verify the information, Gierran said the NBI arranged a meet up with the pimps.
The operation later resulted to the arrest of two suspects identified as Glady Dulot and Cherry Ann Lascano.
The NBI chief said that the suspects were arrested after they agreed to meet the NBI agents who posed as clients and delivered to them 17 girls at a private resort in Caloocan after they agreed to pay them P6,000 for every girl chosen and P1,000 for every girl that will not be chosen.
After the operation, the girls, all minors were brought to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Gierran said the NBI will conduct follow up investigations to know if there are other individuals involved in the syndicate. (SunStar Philippines)
