P177,000 worth of drugs seized in Carcar

ILLEGAL drugs worth P177,000 were seized in Sitio Kabitohan, Barangay Napo, Carcar City, southern Cebu Friday, July 28.

Superintendent Mario Baquiran Jr., the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) chief, arrested Giovanie Pugoy Lausa, 34, a resident of Ermita, Cebu City in a drug bust at 6:12 p.m. Friday.

Fifteen grams of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu were seized from Lausa.

Chief Inspector Rolan Aliser, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) team leader, said Lausa has been listed as a high-value target.

Lausa allegedly can dispose of 15 grams of shabu three times a week, Aliser added. Operatives of Provincial Intelligence Branch joined PDEU, PPSC in the drug bust.

Lausa will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Carcar City Prosecutor's Office. (SunStar Cebu)
