MABALACAT CITY -- Mayor Marino "Boking" Morales has led the distribution of social pension amounting to P1,500 each to 347 senior citizens here.
Morales, who was assisted by by Vice Mayor Christian Halili and Councilors Amauri "Bok" Tiglao, Eddie Sotto and Benny Jocson, said the pension covers the period January to March 2015.
During his speech, Morales emphasized unity, solidarity and teamwork to the elders.
“Buri da kayu pung pasalamatan king bibye yu suporta keng gobyernu tamu,dakal tamu pu agawa nung sawup-sawup tamu," he said.
Rizalino Tuazon, head of the Office of the Senior CItizens Association (Osca), said that the financial assistance is given quarterly by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development to selected senior citizens.
