P120K Baguio Day darts tourney set

DARTERS coming from all over the country start to gear up as they set their sights for the upcoming 2017 Baguio Day darts tournament at the TP Café and Sports Bar in Abanao St. on August 18 to 20.

Dubbed "120K Baguio Day National Darts Tourney," the event partnered with the Baguio City and the Liga ng mga Barangay-Baguio City Chapter will be staged as one of the sport highlights in the 108th Charter Anniversary of the Summer Capital.

The three-day competition, organized by the Cordillera Dart League, is eyeing hundreds of sports enthusiast coming from various areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Seven event categories will be put on display for the contest including Classified Draw Doubles 501 (August 18), Fix Four Person Team 701 (August 20), Youth Singles 501 (August 20), Classified Draw Triples 501 (August 20), Senior’s Singles 501 (August 21), Ladies & Gays Singles 501 (August 21), and Open Singles 501 (August 21).

Registration fees for the classified draw doubles and classified draw triples will be at P200 per player, the seniors singles, and ladies and gays singles at P100 each, fix four person team at P1,200 per team, open singles at P400, while the youth’s division (18 years old and below) is free of charge.

Match format will follow a best of five match during the eliminations round and best of seven single game knockout in the finals except for the Open Singles which will be played in a best of seven in the eliminations and a best of nine single game knockout in the finals.

The sports gathering sanctioned by the National Darts Federation of the Philippines and supported by the Highland Darters and Cordillera Darters Association will give trophies and cash prizes to all wining darters in their respective divisions.

A total of P120,000 of cash prizes will be at stake with champion individuals/teams receiving P8,000 (CD Doubles), P12,000 (four-person team), P7,800 (CD Triples), P2,400 (seniors, ladies & gays), P2,000 (youth), and P12,000 (open singles) respectively.

Consolation prizes will also be given to second to eighth place finishers for all categories, while ninth up to 16th place runner-ups in the open singles will also receive cash incentives.

Open singles is a seeded event based on NDFP ranking. A P10,000 pot money will also be awarded for a straight nine-dart outing sponsored by NDFP.

Proper dress code will strictly be imposed (polo shirts, pants, shoes), no wearing of shorts, tank tops, collarless shirts, and slippers during the tournament.

Winner of toss coin starts all matches, the Tournament Committee shall be the arbiter in all tournament disputes. Close of registration time will be strictly enforced.
