THE father-and-daughter tandem of Arthur and Dianne Galendez emerged champion in the 2-on-Strike Bowling Tournament Father and Child Tandem held at the NCCC Mall Davao B3 Bowling Center on Father’s Day Sunday.
The Galendez tandem rolled a total of 358 pins in the finals to outclass the tandems of lawyer Rodrigo and Rodrigo II Tongo, Ramsy and Chad Tancontian, and Raymond and Ray John Nonato who settled for the second to fourth spots, respectively.
The Tongo duo scored 352 pinfalls followed by the Tancontians who rolled 330 pins and the Nonatos who hit 317.
Prior to the finals, the Galendez duo emerged as top qualifier after scoring 1,134 pinfalls in three games while the Tongos were the second top qualifier with 1,066. The Nonato and Tancontian tandems were tied with 1,029 pins to secure the two remaining finals berths.
The champion went home with P5,000 worth of cash and gift checks plus medals while the first runner up settled with P3,000 worth of cash and gift certificates.
The third and fourth placers received P2,000 and P1,000 worth of gift checks and cash, respectively. (RSA)
