THE Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) has distributed a total of P378,000 worth of financial aid to the victims of fire, last month.
The CSSDO gave P324,000 to the fire victims at Purok San Jose, Buhangin and P54,000 to the fire victims at Purok San Rosario, Buhangin.
The money was divided among the victims based on the extent of house damages and house occupancy.
Home owners received assistance worth P10,000; P4000 for renters; P3000 for boarders; and P2000 for sharers.
In Purok San Jose, 41 families were affected with 28 home owners, eight renters, two boarders, and three sharers.
In Purok Santo Rosario, five house owners and two sharers were affected by the fire.
The fire at San Jose, Buhangin happened on July 19 and the one at Santo Rosario, Buhangin occurred last July 24.
Aside from the financial aid, food and non-food assistance were also allocated to the victims.
Examples of food that were given are rice, noodles, and canned goods while examples of non-food materials are cooking utensils, eating utensils, beds, blankets, mosquito nets, towels, and water. (Christian Gerard Briones, UIC Intern)
