17,000 personnel to secure Kadayawan Festival

A TOTAL of 17,000 security personnel deployment is arranged for the celebration of the 32nd Kadayawan sa Davao, an official said.

Public Safety and Security Command Center head Retired General Benito De Leon said that based on the last count, 17,000 individual personnel deployments are set for the celebration.

De Leon said that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio emphasized during the CPOC meeting that there should be an over preparation for the security to ensure the safe conduct of Kadayawan Festival.

De Leon said that the security forces are all set for the celebration events.

“This has been a long ongoing planning since last month to ensure that all things are properly set for Kadayawan, maraming activities so ginather naming ang mga kapulisan at mga kasundaluhan pati 911, pati mga ahensiya ng gobyerno para makita naming ang ano ba ang dapat gawin sa Kadayawan Festival (There are many activities so we gathered the police and army, including 911 and government agencies to know what we’d do in Kadayawan Festival),” he said.

He added that there will be an intensified conduct of checkpoints, and intensified search on areas which were identified as possible havens of criminal activities to thwart or deter any terroristic act.

De Leon said that the personnel will do what they can to ensure the security and success of the Kadayawan.

He also asked the participation of the visitors and residents in Davao City to cooperate with the security forces.
