Baguio athletics bet opens bid in Asian Grand Prix

BAGUIO City’s Katherine Khay Santos is eyeing a podium finish in the second Leg of the Asian Grand Prix athletics this Monday in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 24-year-old former University of Baguio standout will compete in the 100-meters, long jump, and 4x400 meter relay.

“We are all set to banner the Philippine flag anew, along with my teammates in the national team we will remain to go all out with our performances,” Santos told Sun.Star through Facebook.

Santos failed to win a medal in the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore last week. Her best finish was fourth in the long jump, behind third placer and teammate Marestella Torres.

Last March, Santos earned the title of the Philippine’s fastest female sprinter at the Philippine National Open-Invitational Athletics Championship in Laguna.(Mark Victor Pasagoy)
