5 arrested in drug busts

FIVE persons were arrested for sale and possession of illegal drugs in separate sting operations in Negros Occidental in the past days.

In Bacolod City, Jesmar Diane, 18, of Barangay Vista Alegre, was arrested at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 on August 2 after he sold shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police agent for P200.

Also recovered from Diane were seven sachets of shabu worth P8,000 and P300 cash.

Renante Papa, 37, of Sagay City was caught inside Diane's house and yielded a sachet of "shabu" and an improvised tooter.

Papa was believed to be one of the suspects in the robbery hold-up incidents in E.B. Magalona town.

Arrested in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City was Romeo Hope Catalan III, 35, of the same village. He is the seventh top drug personality of Police Station 9. 

Police seized from Catalan two sachets of "shabu" and the P200 marked money. 

In Negros Occidental, Joebert Garbo, of Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City was collared by police in in the same village last August 3, resulting to the recovery of four sachets of "shabu," and drug paraphernalia.

In Isabela town, Jesiree Pornales, 39, of Barangay Camang-camang was arrested last August 2 after he yielded two sachets of "shabu" and the P500 marked money. (GYM)
