MOTORISTS are reminded about the road closures and to take note of the traffic rerouting in Cebu City for the Ironman 70.3 Philippines triathlon race on Sunday, August 6.
The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) announced that there will be a total closure along S. Osmeña Blvd., from the Mahiga Bridge up to Legaspi Extension.
The whole stretch of the South Road Properties, starting from the underpass to the coastal road leading to Talisay City will also be closed from 5 a.m. to 12 noon.
All vehicles from the north passing along Logarta St. shall turn right to Cabahug St., or go straight to SM City area then to their point of destination.
More detours
Public utility jeepneys (PUJs) coming from the North Bus Terminal passing along Logarta St., on the other hand, shall turn right to Cabahug St. then to A. Soriano Ave.
PUJs with route nos. 08F, 12G, 12I and 12J shall follow MJ Cuenco Ave., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to J.L. Briones St., left turn to Juan Luna Ave., right turn to Andres Soriano Ave., to Cabahug St., left turn to Logarta St., then to North Bus Terminal.
PUJs with route nos. 12G, 09J and 12E plying along Juan Luna Ave., shall turn left to JC de Veyra St., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to Imus Road, proceed to MJ Cuenco Ave., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.
Passenger jeepneys 04L and 06H that are coming from Ayala to SM while passing along Juan Luna Ave. shall turn right to JC de Veyra St., make a U-turn, left turn to Juan Luna Ave., then back to their usual route.
PUJ route no. 03Q, on the other hand, shall turn left to Andres Soriano Ave., to Cabahug St., right turn to Urot St., right turn to Kaoshiung St., left turn to A. Soriano Ave., right turn to Juan Luna Ave., then back to Ayala.
Passenger jeepneys 22D, 21D, 21A and 22A shall follow to MJ Cuenco Ave., left turn to Juan Luna Ave., right turn to A. Soriano Ave., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to Imus New Road, proceed to MJ Cuenco Ave., right turn to V. Gullas St., left turn to P. Burgos St., left turn to Urdaneta St., left turn to Lapulapu St., right turn to Jereza St., left turn to MJ Cuenco Ave., left turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to A. Soriano Ave., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.
Advisory
Pier area-bound PUJs 01B and 01C, while traversing along T. Padilla St., shall turn left to MJ Cuenco Ave., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., D. Gaisano St., left turn to Commerce St., left turn to Benedicto St., left turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to Imus New Road, proceed to MJ Cuenco Ave., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.
For 02B, while passing along Arellano Ave., shall proceed to Pier 3, make a U-turn then back to Arellano Ave., right turn to Legaspi Extn., right turn to MJ Cuenco Ave., left turn to Bonifacio St., to their usual route, then to their destination.
All Port area-bound vehicles shall only access Legaspi Extn., then to Arellano Blvd., or enter the gate at Pier 1.
All north-bound trucks, vans, trailers and other motor vehicles coming from the south shall follow N. Bacalso Ave., to P. del Rosario St., to Imus New Road, then to the North Reclamation Area.
All south-bound private vehicles coming from north, on the other hand, are advised to pass along North Road, to MJ Cuenco Ave., proceed to N. Bacalso Ave., then to their point of destination.
For vehicles coming from Barangay Tabunok in Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga, San Fernando and Carcar who wish to go to the North Reclamation Area, they are advised to pass N. Bacalso Ave., to Imus New Road, then to their destination.
CCTO has advised motorists, drivers and other road users to follow the traffic signs installed on the re-routing areas.
