ILLEGAL drugs worth nearly P400,000 were seized from an alleged “big time” illegal drug source in Singapore, Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City, over the weekend.
The drug suspect was identified as Abdul Madid Ali, 47, a native of Marawi City, was arrested in a drug bust operation on Saturday, August 5.
Authorities seized two big packs of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” weighing 57 grams and worth around P343,800.
Chief Inspector Gilbert Rollen, City Drug Enforcement Unit chief, said the suspect is capable of disposing large volume of shabu.
Rollen said the suspect revealed a name from Iligan City who supplies him the illegal drugs, but he refused to identify the said personality.
But the police is unsure if the items were coming from Iligan City or elsewhere in Northern Mindanao.
The police said the suspect is already known in the area for engaging in the illegal drug trade.
Rollen said the suspect may not have any other source of income other than the proceeds from the drug trade.
He said the suspect has also his “runners” to do the job in his stead.
“Dili nimo mahibal-an nga gikan sa iya kay naay lain tawo motrabaho para sa iya (You wouldn’t know if those drugs came from him because other people do the job for him),” Rollen said.
Rollen said most of the drug personalities previously arrested by the authorities identified Ali as the source.
The suspect, who was detained at the Maharlika Detention Cell, will be charged with selling and possession of drugs of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 on Monday, August 7.
