More human bones recovered at Kentex factory

POLICE investigators found more human remains at the factory of Kentex Manufacturing Inc. in Valenzuela City, more than a month after the footwear factory was gutted by a huge fire last May 13.

PNP Crime Laboratory deputy director Senior Superintendent Emmanuel Aranas said they found several sets of human bones underneath the charred debris of the two-storey building on Saturday and another set of bones on Monday.

He said the recovered bones will undergo DNA testing.

Authorities initially recovered 72 bodies at the slipper factory.

Earlier, Aranas said they were looking for two more victims after 74 families have approached them to claim the bodies of their deceased relatives.

"Pangunahing layunin ng aming operasyon ay ang bigyan na ng closure ang kaso ng Kentex dahil may dalawa pang claimants na hindi tumutugma ang mga DNA sample sa 69 na mga bangkay na una nang na proseso ng PNP crime laboratory," he said.

Aranas said 72 victims were already identified and would soon be released to their families so they can receive a proper burial. (Sunnex)
