A LABORER was stabbed to death at Sitio Palaypay, Barangay Quintin Remo in Moises Padilla town on Wednesday night, February 10.
Police identified the fatality as Ricky Samsona, 46, a local resident.
The victim, who was on his way home, was waylaid by suspect Salimar Amita, 23, also a local resident, a report from Police Regional Office in Negros Island Region (PRO-18) showed.
The victim, who was under the influence of intoxicating liquor, died on the spot, the report said.
Guard found dead
Meanwhile, a security guard was found dead in a cell site at Purok Gemellina, Barangay Daga in Cadiz City Wednesday morning, February 10.
Police identified the fatality as Welle Jon Tupas, 58, of Purok Manzanilla, Barangay Old Sagay, Sagay City.
The victim, who was lying on the ground, succumbed to head injuries, a police report said.
Police have yet to establish the motive, but noted that the victim’s cellphone was missing.
