A TOTAL of 14 companies participated during the 4th Davao Investment Conference (Icon) Business Matching activity held at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, on July 21 to 22 which resulted to a total of 18 business matching during the two-day event.
According to the data provided by the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII), areas of interest during the said matching include renewable energy, garments manufacturing, information and communications technology, agri-export, tourism, construction materials, agriculture/livestock/palm oil, car paint manufacturing, investment governance, trading and exports, and condiments and food products.
Although DCCCII could not yet disclose the details regarding the deals and negotiations made during the 18 business matching, the companies that participated and showed interest in possible future investments in the city include Energy Development Corporation, Phoenix Petroleum, Anflocor Group of Companies (Tadeco), Hi-Tech Lighting Corporation, Enny’s Leather, Regalo Tiles (Indonesia), PT Audie Building Industry (Indonesia), Oriental Mindoro Investments, Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association, ABC Banana, First Global Data Corporation, TanChong Malaysia Group of Companies, Asian Naturenergy Corporation, and Rejoice Family Foods Corporation.
The 4th Davao Icon Business Matching activity was organized as a collaborative effort of DCCCII, Board of Investments Davao City, Mindanao Development Authority, and the Davao City Investment Promotions Center.
It was earlier reported that this year’s Davao Icon was thought to be the biggest and the grandest with an average of 540 participants including both local and foreign delegates from different Association of Southeast Asian Nations countries and even those from Japan, Korea, Singapore, and China.
