P330,000 in illegal drugs seized in Negros Occidental

AN ESTMATED P330,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Bacolod City, three drug personalities were arrested, resulting to a recovery of P230,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu.”

Collared in the first operation at Barangay Mandalagan around 3 a.m. Thursday were Ullodin Akil, 33, of the same village, and Arjie Villarosa, 19, of Barangay Mansilingan.

Police recovered from them seven sachets of shabu worth P180,000, the P500 marked money, and an improvised tooter.

Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office, on Thursday, August 10, said Akil was supposed to be included in the list of high- value target drug personalities, but the information about him was not immediately validated.

Around 3:30 a.m., authorities conducted another operation on C.L. Montelibano Street.

They saw someone heading to the apprehension of Arvi Salaver, 29, of Barangay Mandalagan.

Confiscated from Salaver were two sachets of shabu worth P50,000, and the P500 marked money.

Last Tuesday, Arnold Pahila, 45, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, and Rodne Martinez, 24, of Barangay Granada were also arrested.

Police seized from Pahila three sachets of shabu, the P300 marked money, P200 cash and drug paraphernalia while Martinez yielded four sachets of shabu worth P1,200, the P200 marked money, lighter, a live ammunition of .45 caliber pistol, and a knife.

In San Carlos City, newly-identified drug suspect Charles Ian Alquizalas, 33, of Barangay Rizal was collared by police for sale and possession of illegal drugs last Wednesday.

He yielded six sachets of shabu worth P100,000, the P300 marked money, 800 cash, and a .22 caliber revolver loaded with seven live ammunition.

In Silay City, Jose Portuguez Jr. and Rolando Bermejo were arrested in Barangay Guinhalaran last Wednesday after they yielded eight sachets of shabu worth P4,000, the P200 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P220 cash.

In Manapla town, Kelvin Ferrer, 24, of Barangay 19-A, Victorias City was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Punta Salong on the same day, resulting to a recovery of four sachets of shabu and the P500 marked money.

In Negros Oriental, a former soldier was arrested after he sold shabu to a police agent for P300 in a buy-bust along the national highway of Barangay Panubigan, Canlaon City last Wednesday.

Police identified the suspect as Nelben Calanza, 40, a member of the National Anti- Crime and Illegal Drugs Association and listed seventh on the city’s drugs target list.

Calanza yielded a sachet of shabu, the P300 marked money, and P210 cash.
