SONSHINE Boxing Stable bet Edrin "The Sting" Dapudong is poised to pull off an impressive victory over his opponent in the main event of the Boxing Revolution III: No Guts No Glory set on June 26 at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center to bolster his bid for a rematch against Mexican Hernan "Tyson" Marquez for a world title.

Dapudong told members of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) in a recent forum at the NCCC Mall Davao Food Cove that he will have to secure a win over Manila-based boxer Richard Garcia if he wants to increase his chance of having a rematch against the Mexican.

"Nagapaningkamot mi nga makadaog diri sa dula kay kung madaog ko, possible nga makarematch mi ni Marquez (We are trying hard to win this game because if I win, it is possible that I will have a rematch against Marquez)," Dapudong said.

He added that his training already shifted to full gear and he believes that he could be step closer to avenging his loss to Marquez with a win over Garcia.

Head trainer for the Sonshine Boxing Stable Bruce Lerio, in the same forum, said that Marquez may have won over Dapudong via technical knockout in their World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight title bout in Mexico in 2011 but he insisted that it was a controversial stoppage.

Lerio said that following the controversial loss Sonshine Sports Management Inc. CEO Manny Piñol plans for a possible rematch against Marquez this time for the International Boxing Organization (IBO) bantamweight title.

"Nagplano na si sir Manny na magrematch si Edrin ug Marquez ug kung musugot si Pastor, posibleng idula ang rematch diri sa Davao City karong September (Sir Manny already planned for a rematch between Edrin and Marquez and if Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy will allow it, the rematch may possibly be held here in Davao City in September)," Lerio said.

Nine other bouts are also featured in Friday's Boxing Revolution III organized by Sonshine Sports Management, Inc. for the benefit of Jose Maria College's student scholars.
