'Pusher' killed in Banilad drug bust

A SUSPECTED drug pusher, who allegedly sold illegal drugs to students, was killed when he allegedly tried to shoot anti-narcotics agents during a drug bust in Banilad, Cebu City, Friday night, Aug 11.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas identified the suspect as Ronie Abellanosa, who was killed when he tried to pull out his gun when he sensed the approaching PDEA agents during the drug bust at 6:20 p.m. Friday.

Recovered from his possession were 25 grams of crystal meth (shabu) worth P125,400 and a loaded .357 Smith and Wesson revolver.

The drug bust stemmed from reports of barangay officials regarding Abellanosa's illegal drug activities.

"He (Abellanosa) based his drug operations near a school where most of his users include students, habal-habal drivers and call center agents," Leia Albiar, PDEA-Central Visayas spokesperson, said. (JOB/SunStar Cebu)
