ANGELES CITY - A suspected drug pusher, who voluntarily surrendered to the city police during the height of Oplan Tokhang last year, was killed during a drug bust last Thursday, August 10.
Armando “Jopen” Lluriente, 40, was shot by policemen when he allegedly tried to fire his .22 caliber handgun at the police officers who accosted him.
Around 7 p.m. on August 10, an informant reported to the police that Jopen was selling crystal meth (shabu) at the corner Johnny’s St. (in front of Rajah Hotel), in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City.
Police officers immediately conducted an operation against the suspect who was temporary staying at Rajah Hotel, police said.
Policemen recovered a loaded revolver, two shacets of shabu, 61 pieces of condoms, a bonnet, among others.
Llurientes body was taken to the Pangilinan General Parlor for autopsy.
