CCA graduate makes it to TOSP-Central Luzon shortlist

ANGELES CITY - A graduate from the City College of Angeles (CCA) has been included in the roster of awardees of The Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP)-Central Luzon.

Mirjan Hipolito, a magna cum laude graduate of Tourism Management, is currently working in the hospitality industry.

Out of the 30 applicants who vied for the said recognition, only 10 regional awardees were chosen, Hipolito being the only candidate coming from a local college.

TOSP is an awards program seeking young role models of the country who have personified academic excellence, exemplary leadership and deep sense of social responsibility, all anchored on good moral values.

Known as a student-leader to her fellow “iskolar ng bayan” in CCA, Hipolito toiled her way up to attain academic awards and recognitions leading her to the TOSP-Central Luzon list.

She also excelled in her extra-curricular activities as she was crowned Mutya ning Angeles in 2015.

Her beauty and intelligence gained her the crown as Mutya ning Kapampangan-2nd runner up and Miss Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU) National also in 2015.

“I strived hard to make the most of the opportunity given to me by the city especially the taxpayers for they are instrumental in sending poor but deserving students to college,” said Hipolito.

CCA president Dr. Richard Daenos expressed his pride over Hipolito’s achievement which “serves as an inspiration to CCA students to further excel in their respective endeavors and to the school administration to further elevate our programs for student development.”

For his part, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan is elated that the efforts of the city are coming to fruition as a local government scholar bags a place in the TOSP-Central Luzon.

“This is a manifestation that CCA is committed to producing skilled graduates that are contributors in building a progressive nation. Her success proves that our community college is an institution that hones students who are not only academically inclined, but also possible future leaders,” said Pamintuan.

Hipolito’s bidbook would be forwarded for national screening. Her regional standing qualifies her for the national search where only 30 finalists will be shortlisted to vie for the TOSP. (PR)
