Farmer hacked dead by friend

A 35-YEAR-OLD farmer was hacked dead by his friend in the mountain village of Alambijud in Argao town, Cebu, past 6 p.m., Saturday, August 12.

Police Officer 3 Benjamin Gerozaga identified the fatality as Nigel Camajalan, who was struck in the head and other parts of his body.

The suspect, Jeremias Panerio, was arrested.

Investigation showed Panerio and Camajalan were drinking in celebration of the village fiesta.

Neighbors later heard the two arguing.

Panerio allegedly went home, but came back carrying a bolo and attacked Camajalan.

Gerozaga said Panerio forgot what he and the victim were arguing about. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
