Go is richest CAR solon; Baguilat poorest

BAGUIO Representative Marquez Go is the richest among lawmakers from the Cordillera while Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat is the poorest, based on their asset and liability statements last year.

Go reported total assets amounting to P106.24 million and zero liabilities, or a net worth equivalent to his total assets based on his latest Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) as of December 31 last year.

Net worth is the difference between assets and liabilities.

Baguilat, on the other hand, listed assets worth P13.12 million and liabilities amounting to P8.25 million, or a net worth of P4.87 million.

The second richest is Abra Rep. Joseph Sto. Niño Bernos, with assets of P73.32 million and liabilities reaching P9.29 million, or a net worth of P64.03 million.

Benguet Rep. Ronald Cosalan is third with assets worth P56.55 million and liabilities worth P6.95 million, or net worth of P49.6 million.

The late Maximo Dalog from Mountain Province declared P14.06 million worth of assets and net worth. He did not list any liabilities.

Apayao Rep. Eleanor Bulut-Begtang had assets amounting to P8.03 million and liabilities of P599,351.78, or a net worth of P7.43 million.

Kalinga Rep. and newly appointed Mountain Province caretaker Jessie Mangaoang had assets and net worth reaching P8.9 million and zero liabilities.

Among all House representatives, 1-PACMAN Party-list Rep. Michael Odylon Romero topped the list with total assets of P7.058 billion and total liabilities of P48.41 million, resulting in a net worth of P7.009 billion.

Following Romero is DIWA Party-list Rep. Emmeline Aglipay Villar with a net worth of P1.409 billion, Negros Occidental 3rd District Rep. Alfredo Benitez with P942 million, Ilocos Norte 2nd District Rep. Imelda Marcos with P917 million, and Quezon City 4th District Rep. Feliciano Belmonte Jr. with P852 million.

The next five richest congressmen are Manila Teachers Party-list Rep. Virgilio Lacson (P768 million), Marikina City 1st District Rep. Bayani Fernando (P738 million), Batangas 6th District Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto (P522 million), Davao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr. (P491 million) and Leyte 1st District Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez (P477 million).
