25 groups from Bogo get livelihood support from Dole

AT LEAST 25 groups of women, farmers and fisherfolk in Bogo City, northern Cebu received more than P7 million worth of livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole).

Cayang Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CAMPCO), the accredited co-partner that represented the beneficiaries during the turnover ceremony held at the DOLE regional office, received P362,750 for a bakeshop project.

Kayam Young Women’s Association got P163,920 for a convenience store project. Kasangga Association received P182,605.60 for their mobile convenience store. Mobile stores and vending carts will also be set up by Victoria Farmers’ Association and Betty Tagsip, which both received P238,666 and P20,000, respectively.

Nailon Women’s Association received P249,500 for their project on tent, tables, and chairs rental. Sta. Fe Tri-Motors Drivers’ Association will be using the P221,376 they received for their welding and vulcanizing shop and car wash services.

Rosarian Association was given P26,895 for food processing, while the Bogo Farmer’s Scientist Association received P225,570 for their cassava and camote delicacies production project.

Don Pedro Rural Workers’ Association acquired P564,550; CARFAI received P294,800; La Paz Active Men and Women Association got P630,000; Taytayan Livelihood Association had P300,000; and Gumbang Women’s Association got P319,650--all for meat production, swine breeding, and hog-raising projects.

Nailon Unified Farmers and Fishermen’s Association will be using P652,580 for their Panagatab Kabuhayan project, and P216,180 for vegetable production. Vegetable production will also be explored by the San Lorenzo Farmers’ Association, which received P57,510 for their endeavors.

Grupo sa Mga Kababaehan and the Libertad Livelihood Association respectively acquired P141,350 and P168,750 for meat production.

Livestock and cattle fattening projects, meanwhile, will be initiated by Hini-usang Kusog sa Kababayen-an sa Bosogan (P291,880), Luyong Baybay Livelihood and Fisherfolk (P296,475), Tambongan Small Business and Livelihood Entrepreneurship (P250,000), and Kapunungan sa Mag-uugma ug Mananagat sa Bancasan (P270,000).

A fish processing project will be organized by the Punta Fish Processing Association with P395,300 fund, while Pundok sa Mga Mag-uuma ug Mangingisda sa Barangay To-ong will look into poultry and egg production with their P130,000.

“The projects of these beneficiaries had passed through the in-depth and rigorous scrutiny of the Regional Project Management Team (RPMT), which evaluates, deliberates, and endorses project proposals to the Regional Director for approval,” said Cebu Provincial Field Office (CPFO) Chief Maria Grace Diaz.
